school of visual arts | Animation

My creative process is intuitive and exploratory. I have always had a habit of documenting what I found interesting in everyday life in sketch or text form. At some point, I realized that documenting only the things I am fond of was no longer enough, and I started documenting things that I deemed boring or neutral. This shift in perspective offered me a greater sense of how subjects and objects matter in a story, and taught me that emotional absence is also a valid form of response. Due to my double background in fine art and theater design, my documentation is a combination of writing, drawing, and speculation, so that many of my animation works, such as Parelle and As My Own, are indeed developed from a still painting or illustration.
